Sandokan Hifi

Sandokan Hifi is a Roots & Culture Sound System originally from Germany but based in Zagreb, Croatia. The sound was founded in 2006 in Hannover, where it was involved in the local punk and squat scene and organized session regulars such as "Radical Roots" (2007-2009) and "Liberation Skank" (2008 - present day).

In 2010, Sandokan Hifi reloacted to Berlin, playing in various venues in the city and establishing their own session regular "Dub Disorder" (2012-2015). In the meantime, boxes were built. From 2015, with one of the members moving to Zagreb, Sandokan Hifi operated between the two cities until it completely reloacted to Zagreb in 2019, bringing the whole sound to Croatia and building a new mid-top section.

"Dub Disorder" sessions started continuing in Zagreb and are irregularly active until this very day, with Sandokan Hifi as resident sound and, in a conference style, other sound systems from near and far as guests. Sandokan Hifi played in different countries and on many festivals and became resident sound of the beach stage at Escape The City Festival in the Istrian town of Barbariga, Croatia.

Sandokan Hifi's musical approach can best be described as a deep love for conscious music - whether it's Roots, Dub or Rub-A-Dub, the main ingredient is Upliftment with a focus is on the "historical" side of Reggae: No hype, just Roots & Culture!
