FoxHigh Soundsystem

Fox High was founded in 2022 in Montréal by Renard Dub, a passionate lover of UK Dub and Digital Dub sounds who felt the lack of sessions on this side of the Atlantic.
He laid the foundation for the sound system in 2022 and was soon joined by RootyBé. United by the same passion, these two selectors (DJs) and operators (handling effects and engineering) complement each other perfectly, offering a rich and vibrant musical palette — each bringing their own touch to the FoxHigh identity, with one mission: to make the dance move!
From his studio, Renard Dub has specialised in producing music that brilliantly fuses traditional UK stepper style with electronic influences — creating rhythms and vibrations that won’t leave anyone indifferent, in a 100% FoxHigh style!
RootyBé, meanwhile, focuses on digging the best records old and new, taking listeners on a journey through the ages of reggae and dub.
Since 2023, and with the creation of their non-profit organisation, they’ve been organising events to promote Dub culture in Quebec, including their recurring night Heartikal Dub Session, which has hosted artists such as RDH Hi-Fi, Bless Up Soundsystem, BricaBrac Soundsystem, Private Kelly, WorldWild Soundsystem, Marky Lyrical, Rook, Slim Samba, and many more!
True DIY enthusiasts, the crew continues to evolve. In 2025, they’re building new bass and sub cabinets that combine modern design with traditional craftsmanship while staying true to the authentic spirit of handmade sound systems.
